I will listen to classical music in the car. My wife also enjoys classical music. We have a daughter who is learning to play piano. I believe that she will one day appreciate the joys of classicalmusic too.

I regret the time when I burned my piano pieces. I had Bartok, Beethoven and a lot of other pieces there and they got burned along with the other junk that I had in my closet.

I haven't heard or played Stavinsky but the other gentlemen I know very well. Chopin is my favorite to listen to, he takes my breath away. I have played some Bach and Beethoven back in the day. And for Strauss, I have heard a few pieces but I have never played.I agree a great piece of classical music does envelopes you.And it doesn't have to be from the 1800's. Do you know who's work is just as full and enjoyable as Chopin? John Barry. He is the composer of the music in the movies Somewhere in Time and Out Of Africa. He also wrote for some of the James Bond Films. He Always uses a full orchestra, and I believe he conducts. His music is as rich as custard.

I like classical music. There are times when I just like to turn it on and have it playing in the background. It is good music to listen to when you need to concentrate on writing or some other project. Unfortunately, it is also good music to play while taking a nap, so if I sit too long and listen to it, I will fall asleep. LOL
I like the fact that there are no words in the classical stuff. Most types of music have good beats and rythms. It is when people start putting words to music that they often screw it up.

The music of the classicla masters are truly soothing, uplifting, awe-inspiring! The CDs I really take good care of are those. I'm still looking for a cd of Stravinsky and Debussy.
