September 11th 2001 I was at home with my now 8 year old son. We were watching television when the first tower was hit they showed it on the news.. not long after the other tower was hit and thats when we knew it was a terrorist attack. we lived in waldorf maryland so we were kind of worried because we lived pretty close to washington dc. we monitored the tv and it was very scarey. i remember feeling terrified because we lived close to andrews air force base so we heard alot of stuff and were worried we might be in trouble. its a day i know for sure i wont forget. we called family and friends to make sure they were alright. I think my brother was working in dc that day so we were really worried about him. This day will never be forgotten!

Geez - this discussion is an entire year old, & no one answered it. Well, hopefully, this is a case of better late than never.
I live near New York City, close enough that all my VHF channels call broadcast from New York City with their transmitter sites & facilities in Tower 1. I was (& still am) a cable-modem subscriber, but it was after that incident that i caved in & started my subscription to cable TV.
I was in a chatroom that paid its members to chat & play the games on the site. I was also supposed to chat with the site's head amin, being that it was planned that morning, showing me the various things was the first thing we were going to do that morning. I also had the television on when what I was watching just went off & turned into static & snow. While I went & turned off the TV, she (the head admin) was giving me my moderator privileges.
Then someone in the chatroom broke the news about the first plane hitting Tower I. Being that I was cut off from TV & several radio stations, that sort of left me in the dark. I was kept up to date by the site members, & I found myself with quite a few of these extra buttons that I did not know what they did - until a couple of days later.
