Hello friends It is a good news for non-smoker. Govt of India desperate to catch hold the smoker in public place. Govt promulgated a ban order towards smoking in public places except road & park as road & park are does not comes under the purview of public places. Those caught smoking in these public places will be fined Rs.200/- it may increase keeping in view the circumstances. Hotels & Restourant have been directed to make a separate enclosure for smoker with proper ventilation arrangement. Only formation of rules/regulations will not serve the purpose stringent action should be defaulter whether it is common people or law making agency. I think it is a good decision by Govt of India. Friends do you welcome this rule, if yes then pl share your view and if no then also pl put your views .

I am a smoker myself. But as far as i am concerned this ban on smoking is not strictly followed. Lots of people still smoke in public place.

Hello Ajaykhande You are right. Simply framing a law will not serve the purpose . The law enforcing authority should be sacrosanctly directed to implement in toto. I have also seen lots of smokers are smoking in the public places. Govt should review the ban strictly.

That is a very good move to protect non-smokers from inhaling those fumes. We had that kind of law passed here in Zambia a couple of months ago. Now, it is illegal to smoke in public places.
