Remake "Maximum Overdrive"?

Should Stephen King's "Maximum Overdrive" get the remake treatment? It's screaming for one in my opinion. They can have all new vehicles this time around, show more stuff too with a bigger budget (unlike the first). It makes more sense to remake this film because it was a cool concept with potential but it failed miserably when it was released in theaters in 1986. And before you mention "Transformers", which I know people are gonna compare this to, "Maximum Overdrive" is sci-fi/horror where "Transformers" is PG-13 action/sci-fi adventure -- Totally different atmosphere. Plus in Maximum Overdrive, the vehicles don't "talk" or turn into "giant robots" and they are not "fighting each other", they're all fighting against mankind.
