It's Sunday and we are having lunch in front of the TV watching the car auctions, while waiting for the Football game to come on. Wow, we just saw a 54 VW Bug sell for $36,000.00+. It made us both wish we had kept ours. We both loved that VW but just out grew it. three kids and a large dog just wouldn't fit. What wonderful memories do you have of cars?

I had a 1974 Mustang that was in mint condition when I traded it for another car because of the same reasons.....three kids and me..just didn't fit really well into it. If I had the money at the time and didn't need to trade it in I would have loved to keep it. It was my divorce present from my ex husband....he brought it home just a couple of days before the divorce was final thinking I would stay as one terms of our divorce was that he get me a good car and I had always wanted a mustang. Anyway....I did love that car!

My cousin and I shared a 68 VW that was orange with black racing stripe near the bottom. We both worked at the same place and got paid bi-weekly. We needed a battery, and being poor students, had to wait until payday to buy one. Every morning at 6:30am we would push start the bug, in the winter no less. We loved that car, even when it was down it never left us stranded LOL

Isn't it fun to remeber those things, I know it's not fun to go through thenm day after day but it is great to look back. We probably don't really remember how bad it was.

Haha - right! I have happy memories of a 1929 Austin 7 tourer I had as a student. I ran it two years and repairs cost me 5p for a new fan belt! It had no top so when it rained my girlfriends had to put up an umbarella to keep fairly dry! haha And boy! Was it cold in winter with no heater! I saw one the other day that went for tens of thousands of pounds! I sold it for £10 and was very happy to get it!
