You are joking? That is really bad, and I am sorry to hear it. If you can get a lawyer and he can help you then I would, good luck with that.

I am all with you enola! My husband has been trying to get his SSI for over 3 years now! He had back surgery in January of 2005 and the doctor would only release him to go back to work with restrictions. The company he worked for didn't like that so they medically retired him. We filed the first time ourselves and were denied. So the company my husband worked for got us a lawyer who refiled for us. We finally had a hearing on the 7th of July this year! That's right, the lawyer filed for us 3 years ago and it took them that long to set a hearing date! We were told we would have the decision within 30 days. We are still waiting but had our lawyer call Social Security last week and he was told the notices were sent out last Wednesday. We should know this week if he was denied again. It just really ticks me off that Social Security takes this long to make a decision. Especially in cases that are so obvious like yours and my husbands! I don't understand how it could take that long to take care of this. I don't know about everyone else out there but this has very nearly broken us. He can't work, I haven't been able to find a decent job, and we are at the point we may have to mortgage our home. Your best bet is to hire a lawyer. There is a set fee they can charge and they don't get the fee until you win your case. I wish you all the luck in the world.
