Will you be a good neighbor?

Ignore Merriam Webster on this one. There is a new definition of neighborliness in town. Are you going to be a "good neighbor"? http://am-yisrael-blog.blogspot.com/2008/09/seeing-through-obamanomics.html

I will not be a good neighbor. We are both on a pension, and I do not think it is right for us to take money from someone who works hard for their money. It is all right to give extra money like the surplus to those who were unable to get in the work place because of a former depression, a war, or were raising their children, but to anybody? And be compelled to give your money away? If Obama gives to charity, well I give ten percent to my church and that does not count the offerings that go to the poor, he and his wife should match mine. I guess for him it is "do as I say, not as I do."

I agree. The Obamas should put their money where their mouth is. Let them go live in public housing for awhile and allow someone less fortunate to live in their big mansion. Then let them talk about neighborliness and charity.

Heck no! I would like to see my neighbors work three jobs to pay their mortgage. I am so sick of having to take care of everybody else. I think I will quit working, collect welfare and other programs! Then I can be the happy neighbor!

I'd like to see the lenders institiute mandatory financial management classes and actually DISCOURAGE people from getting into debt up to their ears so they won't have to work three jobs just to pay their mortgages and be able to feed and clothe themselves.

We would not be rich enough to be a good neighbor either! There has to be a better way than socialism in what is supposed to be a democratic society!

"Robin Hood Politics" has never been a good philosophy. It goes against our basic American foundation of democracy and capitalism. Many wealthy people are also great philanthropists and help people. You don't hear about them much because most want to do it discreetly, but Obama is promising so much to the middle class, he is not going to deliver but rather take their savings and IRAs and give them away to other people in the name of "neighborliness."

No. But then I am not rich. But I do not feel Bill Gates has an obligation to take care of me or anyone else either. There would not need to be tax increases on ANYONE if washington would just be responsible with the money we give them. Not spend more than they get and stop funding BS programs. We should all be paying less taxes. Because if washington was responsible with the money they would not need as much. This is forced charity in my opinion. If someone has a lot of money it should be their choice to help out others that are less forunate. Not a requirement.

I agree with you. Obama's plan sux eggs and I hope people will realize his plan is nothing but socialism and we don't need that brand of government here in the USA.
