I read a report the other day that driving at 55 mph as opposed to 65 saves 13% on gas used in your vehicle. So as usual I put it to the test and yep sure enough it I did get better gas milage. This works if you don't get run over by the ones who don't try this! LOL Any other gas saving tips?
Gas has raised to $4.05 in Ohio.

Yeah, even when driving at like, 60, the gas milage is greatly improved; I drive 400 miles every month or so with my wife to visit my family in Northern California and we've taken to leaving at night, when it's cooler to begin with and there's no need for air conditioning, and less cars on the road so an ability to keep a slower pace in the slow lane. We improved out gas milage, by our calculations of course, by almost 5 miles per gallon, which is almost 65 miles in our 13 gallon tank.
Wow, that is high for gas; it was like that about a month ago, but since then it's been dropping. The good gas stations (Chevron, 76) are down to $3.65 a gallon, which is incredibly good for our area.

Oh yeah and another thing that a friend told me (I've not read anything about it) was that driving with the windows down creates a wind tunnel effect and that you don't use more by using the a/c. I'll have to try that one out though.

Gas is $4.09 here. So I do not drive a lot. I make every trip to town count. I drive the speed limit. Everyone else can go around me. They don't have to pay my bills. I do. Propane prices have also gone through the roof. I don't turn on the furnace unless absolutely needed. We don't use the big oven as often. I don't even mow the lawn as often. It looks shaggy all the time now. I can't afford to mow the lawn like I used to.
