I was just reading about a kitty that has returned home in Brittan. The kitty disappeared in 1999 and her owners thought she was hit by a car. She was seen scraggly in the neighborhood 1/2 mile from home and reported her to the RSPCA. The officer there checked for a microchip and found the owners and she was returned home. Both kitty and owners are very happy. Do you have your kitties microchipped. It could help your kitty to be found if it gets lost.

Oh what a nice story of owner and pet being brought back toghter again. My pets do not have the microchip. Doubt I could afford to get them a chip.

None of our 4 are micro chipped. I've heard that there are several different kinds of readers, and the chip has to be read by the right one or it won't register. Our cats are indoor only; and, although they may get out and have in the past, we have always been lucky enough to get them back in. Now that they are older, they show little interest in escaping. I do think it's a good idea for those cats who go outside.

Our cats came microchipped. The no kill shelter we got them from spay/neuters, gives all shots, and microchips all the pets.

I don't have any cats I only like dogs, but I think it's a great idea.I have heard something before about the chips causing tumors in some cats, but I don't know how common that is.The owners must have been thrilled to get their cat back and I hope the story above encourages more pet owners to do so.cheers..
