What is your understanding about protestantism? Protestantism for me refers to the forms of Christian faith and practice that originated in the 6th century which we called it a Protestant Reformation. But If you are going to ask me, if Protestant is a religion, then my answer would be definitely a big NO. Protestant is the root word for protest and started with Martin Luther, they are the one who protest about other's faith which they thought isn't right like catholicism. For me the word Protestant isn't refer for religion. They are just called protestant, because they protest. Inside the umbrella of Protestantism where religions are like: the baptist church, methodist, mormon, jehovah's witness, sabatth day and many more. My teacher said that non-catholics, non muslims are called Protestantism..
