Today,I gave my 16 year old son and 17 year old daughter $45 each to buy clothes. I realized that they have out grown their clothes, especially my son who is now 6'2" tall. I need to give them money. That is around P2115 in Philippine pesos more or less.
I thought they are not working yet and they really need to get some stuff. My husband who is on a trip sent an sms message that I need to be with the kids when they buy their stuff. But I didnt want to be with them becuase I will end up choosing for them. I want to give them space and see how they will fend for themselves.
Do you think the money was too much or too little?
Should I have gone with them?
Children in the Philippines are not allowed to work as early as their age,so we the parents must provide. I mean, not really,not allowed to work...we just have the option not to let them.

In the U.S. $45 won't get them very far. They could buy one outfit if they found something on sale or if they went to a discount store.

yes. its a lot cheaper here. with the $45 they can lready get a nike shirt on sale and a Lee pair of pants. Thats the most that they can get. but if they will really choose those with cheaper brands, maybe they can get 2 sets. Another reason too why I dont want to be with them is a will end up adding more amount since Im sure if I will be with them, it will be the Nike shop and Levis.
Life is hard, got to settle with cheaper ones.thank you so much.

Oh I don't pay full price for anything. I only buy clothes on sale.

since I posted this discussion (which didnt get so much response.LOL), I have bought the kids several shirts and the wonderful thing is, for the first time!they bought at penshoppe.maybe,they realize that times is really hard.Kamiseta,Nike and adidas,their favorites have gone very expensive. My son bought 1 shirt for P400 only. SM has 2 days midnight sale.we are going this afternoon to get them pants and shirts.I got a next brand skinny jeans with my husband yesterday.the first time I bought a cheaper brand. My pants used to be Lee and Levis only,but I realized, I could buy 2 pairs for the price of Lee.My daughter,for the first time bought Bobson jeans.Hers were usually Lee and Kamiseta denims. We are learning.
