When you "LOVE" someone you have a feeling about the other which you think is Love. Love happens at the primary stage of a relationship between opposite genders. It could be just an atraction or a crush.
But when you are "BEING IN LOVE" you would feel that you cannot live without the other. You would do anything for the other and you understand the other very well. It is the true Love and for one to be "BEING IN LOVE" that person should be loved in reverse by the other person.

The difference between loving and being in love is quite simple, yet hard to explain, so I understand your struggle.
Love is kind of like cheese. There are so many different kinds!
The difference between the two is the kind of love that is felt. For example... you love your mom... and you're in love with your girlfriend/boyfriend.
I guess it differs by the type of love you develop for the person in question.

being in love and love are all the same to me, it means loving, opening yourself and your heart to someone it.
well, that's how i love, i give my all.. well, just like how the song goes.. "coz i want it all or nothing at all..." hehehe so i give my all because that how i want to be loved in return..hhehehe they are one and the same thing.. same rhythm.. hehehe

Well LOVE in general is applicable to your friends and family and to people who matter to you, and being in love (i think) seems to be so focused on the object of your affection, where hormones surge.
