Do you like to cook or just hate to?

I know some of us love to cook and can cook almost anything! Can you cook? What do you like to cook? What do you hate to cook but have to cook it because someone in your family loves the way that you make it!

Don't let her fool ya winterrose. If I could find her a kitchen she liked whe would go wild in the kitchen. At the moment the counterspace won't let her go wild for more than about 3 minutes.

I think that is great! Your open to new food dishes! I love when people Love what I make too, it makes me feel like cooking more. When I have to ask someone if they like something. I feel like they don't like it.. Because I think that if they thought it was good they would say right off. that they liked it.

I LOVE cooking and baking. Almost anything is fine with me...I have even come to the point that I can cook liver now. I never could for a very long time...it still is gross to me but I can cook it. I think my cooking is pretty good. My family likes it so they say.

Very good! You can cook things that you do not want to eat. That is a very good cook!

I've never been a fan of liver, but if you've discovered how to make it well without it drying out you should have no trouble with almost anything you try.

Sometimes it can be fun. Like when my daughter wants to help prepare the meal. It is a learning experience for her. And quality time for us. At 5 I hope she will be able to retain the memory of helping mom or dad make noodles or measure out the water and flour. Other times it can just be a chore to get out of the way. Cooking is something I think my hubby likes to do more than I do.

I mentioned earlier that my mom gut us kids cooking young. It guaranteed we wouldn't go hungry when others weren't around, ensured we could impress a date and got us involved in the kitchen. Check out the book store for some kid friendly cookbooks. You can also find stuff on Disney and Martha Stuart sites that they will have fun making and are easy enough for them to do with minimal supervision so they feel more independent and proud of their accomplishment.

Unfortunately I am not at all gifted in the area of cooking. I am grateful that my mom instilled in me a healthy appreciation for cooking so that I am trying, but so far I can only make simple dishes such as chicken and rice. :) I'm also glad my boyfriend doesn't expect much of me in this area!

Simple is normally best. Check out Iron Chef or Rachel Ray and you can see what I mean. The more you put into a dish the more there is to go wrong. Start with good food and you don't have to do much to make a great meal. Paula Dean, Rachel Ray, bobby Flay and all the others may have reputations for great food but the dishes that made them famous and allowed their restaurants to flourish are simple. Bobby is famous for burgers and Tex-mex. Paula for southern cooking (what's simpler than BBQ?) and Rachel for 30 minute meals that take little prep and less work.

Hi again louise! Your sure are pumping out the discussions tonight and have some really great topics! Well, I like to cook. I have to be in the mood and since the weather is now cooling off I guess I will be doing some more cooking. Since it's usually just me I don't cook as much as I used to anymore. My boyfriend works late during the week and eats at his job and sometimes brings home food for dinner so I don't usually cook during the week anymore. He works in a college kitchen so some nights he brings some interesting things for me to sample. I cook on the weekend. I like to make alot of chicken dishes. I make chicken cutlets, terriaki chicken, chicken with paprika. I also like to make beef stew when the weather gets cold. I make meat loaf and meat sauce and spaghetti. I also make shish kabob with beef and vegetables. I like to make some dishes up as I go. I'm an adventurous cook sometimes. I'm always trying something new. Oh, I love to make stuffed cabbage. I have a great Hungarian recipe that's a family recipe made with lots of paprika and sauerkraut. I also like to bake. I'm really glad that the weather is getting cooler again because I don't do much cooking in the summer.

I love to cook. Mostly because i know where my food has been, who's touched it and what not. I also love the smell it produces in the house, it's just wonderful. I like to try new Italian dishes, i am very big on Pasta. I make a lot of chicken, pork and beef and occasionally a stew or casserole. My boyfriend likes to eat so i find it's also cheaper to cook my own food at home rather than order take out.

True when you cook it yourself you know who has handled it. Lots less germs that way. I have to agree homemade is a lot cheaper then take out. I love Italian dishes also.

My sister and brother-in-law are anything but overweight but, you'd never know it to see their cooking or what they eat. they claim the secret is "real food". They use some packaged stuff like biscuits, croissants, pizza shells and the like in a can, bu then they use fresh ingredients for making pizzas, home-made hot pockets, and the like. They rarely have bread around except some crusty Italian or something for sandwiches. Instead they make Biscuits and croissants and the like, fresh with the meal.

I cook every day, I don't mind it at all. My roommate is a chef so he is cooking all day long so when he gets home the last thing he wants to do is cook so I do the cooking and he cleans up, it works out great. I cook a lot of Italian dishes and Spanish dishes too. I love making my stuffed artichokes, oh it is so good.

Sure I will cook, Louise you can be in charge of the beverages and you better get the list right! Carl and Lady M can fight over who will clean up - watch out Carl she is going to tell you that a Princess does NOT clean up! Shhhhhhh she thinks she is a real Princess, we'll let her tell it.

Washing Dishes - If a man cooks, then a man should wash the dishes!!!
Dayum Howard...You mean you been lying to me??? What a way to tell me!!! Princesses ALWAYS drink Coca~Cola & NEVER do dishes. I'm sure Carl won't mind doing the dishes. A man cooks so a man should do the dishes while the women sit around sipping nice cold Martinis. I'll bring the Grey Goose & the olives!!!

I love cooking and most everything that I do cook turns out really well. My husband always tells me that I should open up a restaurant. He says all I really need to do is to develop the recipes and then teach someone else how to cook it and just sit back and supervise everyone. That is a really big compliment to me. I love cooking and I think that dishes turn out better when you are enjoying what you are doing as you create a dish. I don't like seafood but then again everyone else in my household hates it too so that is not an issue for me. I really don't think I would like to cook seafood myself as it stinks so bad to me. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

well, i cannot say whether i either love or hate cooking. i cook because i have to. i have to cook my own meal. i am vegetarian and my mother and my sister are not, so they cook their own food and so do i. so, i always cook very simply and fast. i will cook in as simple as possible, using the very basic spices, which are salt and sugar regarding the last question, fortunately no LOL. nobody in our home like whatever i cook i think i am the only person who can eat the food i cook.

oh, no. i cook these grains, beans, nuts and vegetables, of course. what i mean with salt and sugar are just as 'spices'. you know, we can add coriander, cumin, cinnamon, basil, pepper, ginger, chili...almost every spices except garlic and onion. i don't have a recipe which is really recipe. what i mean with 'cook' is boiling those vegetables, grain etc + a little bit salt + sugar. anyway, you can try my salad : cucumber, lettuce, tomato, shredded carrot, (pineapple), blended tofu + a little bit boiled water, salt, black pepper, basil. you can add celery or coriander leaves if you like (i don't think you will like it LOL)

I like cooking, and I can cook pretty good, I think I can..lol. I like making casseroles, that way all you have to do is mix it all up and put it in a pan and bake it, easy no messes. I wouldn't say that I hate cooking lasagna, but its just that it takes a long time to make, especially from scratch, but my family loves it.

i agree that Lasagna is very time consuming to make. I know a lady that use to make her own sauce in the morning then the lasagna in the afternoon, she was all day cooking for one meal.. * would be breaking out the Prego spaghetti sauce * I wish that we were allowed to post recipes on here. would be nice to get a few fast casserole dishes.

I can cook, I'm quite good at it. Sometimes I love cooking and will go so far as to not even buy bread from the store because I'd rather make it. But sometimes I get pretty lazy and just want to throw something in the microwave. There's really nothing that I absolutely hate to cook, it really depends on my mood. Sometimes I just don't like going through the hassles. If hubby requests a meal that I don't particularly feel like making, he will make it himself, so not a huge deal.

I do hate cooking but since it is something that has to be done , then I do it as we still have to eat ... kind of like cleaning your house it is not fun to do but has to be done anyway :) I don't like cooking because half the time I don't like the way it turned out and even if I am told it is good then I am still not happy because it wasn't what I was trying to do or it doesn't look as good as I wanted it . I can cook a good ham dinner and this I enjoy making because everyone who eats it really enjoys my ham beause they like my glaze :)

I can cook and enjoy doing it sometimes. I am very lucky that my husband enjoys cooking and is a good cook. He is far more adventurous in his cooking than I am so he does most of the cooking. I just do basic cooking when he wants a rest. Mind you if there is any decorating to do I do it because I really enjoy it.

I love to cook. I have a passion for cooking. I dont think of it as chore but rather as a therapy when I am sad or as an inspiration as well. I love the feeling of combining raw products and making something yummy out of it, especially if the people you cooked it for appreceiates all your effort. As for the 3rd question, I practically like cooking everything edible. What I hate is the preparation and the clean up. Especially when i have to prepare a fish dish and the fish are bought fresh. I have to remove all the gills and stuff, I hate doing that...but when everything is ready, Im fine and ready to cook!

SECRET INGREDIENT Here's a tip for the non-adventurous. Try adding a little something special that is uniquely yours. I learned from the superfriends cookbook to mix a smashed banana into my pancake batter for Batman's Mystery pancakes. I like to add in cinnamon or orange flavoring to my waffle mix to give it a little extra. I use Italian sausage links cut small as meatballs in my spaghetti sauce. Cook it slow and long and the spices will infuse the whole sauce wile making the meatballs milder. Be a little creative with basic recipes to make them your own. Experiment! Here's one that worked great: brown some ground country sausage and mix it into scrambled eggs with onions and peppers. Cook the eggs enough to be solid but still runny. Unrolls a package of croissants and use your egg mixture as filling then seal a second croissant over the one with the filling on top by rolling the edges together. Bake it as long as you would the un-stuffed croissant and you'll have country scramble hot pockets for breakfast that are delicious.
