What do you have to teach your children for them to start kindergarden? My daughter is 4 and she'll be going to school next. I want to know what she'll need to know to start kindergarden?

Well it really depends on where your child will be attending school. I know that Kindergarten is really becoming the new 1st grade so really, by the time children enter Kindgergarten they should know their colors, alphabet, and numbers well above 10. They need to know how to write their name and probably should start writing other things as well. Practice forming the letters seems to be a must for Kindergarten now. And, a bit of reading experience probably won't hurt either.

I have been trying to do everything I can with her i'm just new at this sort of thing. That and I don't have a whole lot of time either. I've been trying to teach her how to write but she seems to use her left hand and I"m right handed. But i'll keep trying.

Children her age tend to switch hands a lot but if she seems to be using her left hand more that's fine. You can always use dots to make the letters and have her trace them. That helps the children that I work with. Giving them a big example to go off of helps them too. Sometimes letting them use rulers to trace straight lines helps them create letters that have straight sections.
