I just learned about UTube - thanks to my blog about Bobby Sherman - see it in my profile... but as I was enjoying and remembering my teen idol love affair - I go to thinking...what can UTube do for me? I haven't a clue about it, so I ask you experts - and please.. tell me in terms of "UTube for Dummies" as even that it hard for me to understand. HEre's my questions: and they might be non-contuitive... I know that I can download from Amazon.com for less than a dollar, his songs, instead of buying a CD full. THat way I pick the ones I liked. Has anyone every done this? I figure you download it to your hard drive...can be played anytimg computer is on - but..can I copy those downloaded songs to a CD to play inmy car or CD player? Is it possible? I am thinking for illegal bootlegging and all, maybe it isn't possible to do more than just DL to hard drive. THen, there are the short video/movie clips (2-4 minutes) of video clips - in this case, Bobby Sherman back in the 70's singing and dancing - and boy could he sing and dance, but that is another story of another time! But, they are on UTube and I didn't notice anything about buying these video clips - can I? or can I download the clips to my hard drive and then could I copy from HD to a DVD so that I could put several on a DVD and play it on my TV? I'm sure there is more to it, maybe you could give me suggestions or thoughts..thanks for helping me bring my past into my present ... I have downloaded couple of his songs "make your own kind of music" and "easy come, easy go" and play them for my 2 grand daughters, 8 and 2, and they both have the sonts memorized and sing them all the time!!! So happy memories all around if I can make a movie/DVD of Bobby Sherman!!! Can anyone help me!?!?!?

Coffeebreak, sometime you scare me with your timing!! I was just on YouTube watching some old Jackson 5 videos after watching their bio-movie on VH1. I also had to pull the classic I'm sure and half the world has seen of Michael Jackson performing at the Motown 25th Anniversary special show. For me YouTube is a GREAT place to reminisce about the different times, phases and places in my life. I don't download any videos. I just like to watch them. I use napster.com and imesh.com for downloading music. With Imesh being my primary. They charge $6.95 monthly for unlimited downloads. Napster charges $0.99 per download so you should choose the one that fits your downloading needs and keep it legal. Stan

I can get the songs for free (legally) but what I want are the video clips - I want to fill a dvd with my favorites and watch it on tv not the pc monitor. Kind of like putting some of my past together. Back when TV and celebrities were worth watching!

You know, I didn't know there was a choice!. You asked this and I didn't answer right away as I didn't have time, but just now went to the videos I put on my Squido lense and sure enough - the movie clip videos are YOUTUBE not UTube...so another question - what's the difference and I want to download/copy these videos from YouTube. THanks for pointing that out - learned something new today! Can you still anwer my other questions now that you know which I am talking about?

Maybe there isn't a UTube - I have been demanded to start text messaging by my daughter and told to use the short hand writting and abbreviations to do so. I heard about you(U)Tube and thought it was U- Tube. Probably never was, just my stupidity of it all. At least you cleared that up for me! But that is what i want to do - download oldies from tv back when tv was really good and worth watching!

Actually I only knew about Youtube and not Utube and I thought you may have made a mistake. I mostly go to youtube to check out old stuff (tv clips, old tv commercials, old music from the 70s and 80s) I've never downloaded anything so I apologize that I can't help you with your questions.
