Here's my tip to saving money. Don't eat out for lunch while you work. Pack your lunch and go home after work and eat what you have in the house, usually in a 5 day work week i can not spend no money for like 4 or 5 days. The key is to spend less money than you make. So if you know you have 14 days in a pay period then try to make a plan to only spend money on like 4 or 5 of those 14 days, you'll be impressed once there's extra cash in your account when your next pay period comes around. It starts adding up.

I wish s/o would listen to that reasoning! He works 14 days/nights out of every 28. When he's on nights he's good about packing a lunch (not an extrememely thrifty one but about $4). When he's on days though...ugh! Breakfast costs $7 if he buys it at work and he will not pack anything on those days. It might only be $3 more than what he spends to pack luch but those $3 could really add up!

Vinegar and baking soda can clean lots of things and save the price of many cleaners.
Learn to identify and pick wild fruits. Especially berries, the cost of berries have gone sky high, so if you have land or know someone who does and doesn't go berry picking, maybe that person will let you pick. Learn to freeze or can the berries or do jam/jellies.
Learn the soap plants in your area or learn to make soap from things you have on hand. It may not be cheaper, but it will probably be healthier. Look at the ingredients in some of the soaps and then look at the health problems associated with some of them and you will be mortified.
Use rags instead of paper towels. Use nice rags to make things with. Quilt, rugs, pocketbooks, so many things can be made with rags. Don't throw rags away unless you've at least used part of them a second time. All the uses of jeans alone is amazing!

I know you only said one but I couldn't help it so here are three ideas for you and everyone else to enjoy!
Don't leave a room without taking something with you. With small kids, there are almost always items migrating to the wrong room. In my house the bedrooms are between the living room and bathroom so if I have to go to the bathroom I grab a toy or whatever else belongs in a bedroom and drop it off on the way...same with on the way back out. It works with whatever room you're in and whatever room you're going to. No matter how little or minor it is, it saves a minute or two here and there and can really add up by the end of the day.
Use cheap ziplock bags for leftovers instead of dishes. It might not save money but when those leftovers don't get used and have to be tossed, it's as simple as opening the refrigerator and garbage can. No stack of disgusting tupperware to wash! (which very well might save money since you don't have to use hot water and soap)
Don't spend your change. If you're really brave, don't spend dollar bills either. Stash it all in a jar or bottle. I have saved roughly $150 in change in a year doing this. I'm not so good at saving the $1's but I've had close to $50 at a time saved by trying that...it comes in handy the day before payday, which is why the $1's don't stay in my jug for long.

About five minutes ago I started a discussion about a hint I had gotten from a mylotter. Since my bread goes to waste she suggeste me making mini loaves from frozen bread dough. I did. I got three smaller loaves that are just right for me and when I got company one night I took one out and heated it just a bit and it was wonderful. In the long run it will save me money..and it's so wonderful to eat homemade bread!

Hello,Bella! As little drops of water make an ocean so also saving some money every month may make your fortune.Sort out unnecessary expenditures and cut down drastically and save that amount for a better future.I mean restrict your lunch and dinners to home cooked foods.Don't rely on restaurant foods which are expensive as well as unhygienic.Travel short distances by your bicycle instead of bike or car.So also as far practicable travel long distances by public transport or share a car,There by you can save some money.Make it a principle to save 25% of your income for better future.Thanx.
