Do you know what the colors on your flag, and their arrangement means? Does your flag contain symbols closely related to your country's tradition? The flag of my country, Romania, has three equal vertical bands of blue (hoist side), yellow, and red. Ever since I was very little, I was told that the blue is the symbol of the sky, covering us, the yellow stands for the ripe cereal fields that extend across the plains of our country, while the red color stands for the blood shed by the heroes to defend the nation along the time.

I take it you are British... I always looked at the British flag as a combination of Scotland's St. Andrew's cross with the Red English Cross... What part of Great Britain are you from? Because I believe the Scottish, Welsh and English flags are richer in symbols, maybe you can tell me something about that one...

My country flag colours are white and red with a George cross in it. The George Cross was awarded for bravery to the Maltese nation during the world war 2. The white and red colours were given by Count Roger in 1091 which gave us part of his flag.

I see... I've always believed the Cross in the left upper corner of the Maltese flag has something to do with The Maltese Cross coming from the time of the Knights of Malta, but now that I come to think of it, that's not the same shape.

You're right, stvasile. That represents the three colors of our flag: l. Blue (May azure in the Moldovan version): The sky and air, the most noble element after the fire, symbolizing good faith and the principle of life but as divine. 2. Yellow (golden): symbol of wealth and power regeneration of man and nature, productive and household Gentleness of God, who in the world makes its glory and a light autarchical with his mind. 3. Red: The symbol of royal distinction basileice has increased, grandeur and loneliness decision.
