2 American Bull Dogs Attack City Worker.

2 American bulldogs got out of there yard today and ran across the street to a park, where they attacked a city worker. A witness walking his dog called police when he saw the dogs attacking what he thought was "a dead body." Cops arrived shortly after phone call and shot the dogs. The officer did try to spare one dog...he shot one only to free the man, but when the other came after him he had to shoot it too. It is possible that the dogs got out when the owners gate was left open by yard workers. Neighbors say that when the owners walked the dogs they always were well behaived. One woman said that if it had been a couple hours earlier it could have been a child that was attacked. I'm sorry but I have to disagree, and I'm sorry if my opinion here angers anyone...but the guy they attacked was, quite a big guy, and he was a stranger that was directly across from their home. I don't think the dogs would have attacked a small child; since it's said they were walked a lot and they would have been used to neighborhood kids. I think they felt their territory was threatened because he was bigger and a stranger. I know animals are unpredcitable and I can't know for sure! But that's just my opinion! And i know now that this story is going to make some people to call for all pitbulls and other bully breeds to be destroyed! Which I think is stupid!

I think it is stupid to destroy these kinds of dogs too but they should only be owned by people who know how to handle and care for them. Some animals are not intended to be owned by all families. Some people do not know how to take care of those types of animals either.

When we got our pit mix 2 mother days ago she was just a pup that had lived her entire life in shelter after shelter. When we got her from the shelter she was very sweet, a little scared of course. But when we got home she did NOT like my dad...we figured that maybe she had been abused by a guy...or maybe it was just the fact that men are bigger than woman...but we got her trained, and she's doing much better around men. Me and my sister walk her to get her used to other people, I took her to PetSmart with me-she did very well. While we were walking her this fairly muscular, big guy was jogging at us...she didn't even growl! i was shocked lol. Another time this bold guy stopped walking while we were resting and just started petting our dog. She didn't do anything threatening, but me and my sister held out breaths lol. She has grown to learn to behave with other people. She still barks when a boy she doesn't know comes into the house; but she neve tries to attack. She'll smell their feet and look up at them and bark and run away lol. But a good thing about her behavor for me is...I work nights, so on my nights/evenings off I would like to start joggin...and having her with me,I know she would be very protective when she needed to be. I'm sure a lot of women own bully breeds for the same reason; protection....how could the government take away womens protecttions!?

It's hard to predict what could have happened. You're forgetting about pack instinct, too. Dogs running in a pack are more dangerous than those not running in a pack. My question is, how is the man? You never told us.

Oops sorry! I did mean to add that to my discussion. The man is still in the hospital, he was in critical condition, but he is recovering now. :) Thanks for asking!!
