I have been suffering with an illness for years.I am so tired of it,1st I was off balance so badly that I could barely walk at all and had to hold onto to walls and stuff. My head would swim if I moved it only slightly,my eye felt like a knife was stabbing it and no medicine made it feel better. Then I started with a numb tingling in my left hand and left foot.It has now traveled up to my knee and elbow. If I walk any distance at all I start to lose the feeling in my feet the further I walk the worse it gets, and the backs of my legs get very stiff and sore. The heat always makes this worse. It is ruining my life what little I had before I got sick.I have been for many tests,M.R.I. spinal tap, nerve conduction tests.I have been told there his nerve damage in the back of my eye but it doesn't account for all the symptoms,I have been told I have multiple sclerosis by one doctor and he says he can't really diagnose me with out more lesions showing up in an M.R.I. .I know having state medical makes matters worse but I would think that since I have been suffering now on and off for ten years and it has gotten worse that they could and should do something. If this is multiple sclerosis then I should be on medication to at least slow down the progression of it.I don't know just wondering if some one on here has M.S. if these symptoms sound similar to you?

Hello Jasmine,
When I was eighteen, I was diagnosed with MS. I basically had the same symptoms you do. It started with a aggravating headache, that wouldn't go away, regardless of what I took. I then began having tingling in my finger tips on my right hand, I had numbness in my feet and hands, and walking was difficult. I had to hold on to the walls, and basically was staggering. My sight became blurry and my speech was slurred. I think this is a hard condition to diagnose. At first they thought it was a brain tumor, that was ruled out. I had many tests before they said I had MS. I was put on cortisone pills, taking about 24 per day, as well as b12 shots every two weeks.
I was told that I would go into remission, and the symptoms would flare up again in about fifteen years, well the fifteen years have passed, and I am doing okay.
My balance is still not the greatest, and five years ago, I was told that the optic nerve in my left eye was damaged. I do not know if there is any correlation.
If you have been going through symptoms for the last ten years, the doctor's should be able to pinpoint the problem.
I was in the hospital for one month, and then had a follow up of one week in the hospital the next year for more tests.
Again, like I said, I am feeling well, except for my balance.
I wish you well, because not knowing what is wrong, is almost as bad as knowing what it is.

hi jasmine0728!
so far haven't had any symptoms like what you had. how are you feeling now? do you take any medicines and treatments for your sickness? hope you are doing fine. maybe it would be better if you consult a physician who is knowledgable of this certain sickness so that it may be treated as early as possible.
happy posting and happy mylotting!
