The best book I've read was Destiny by Sally Bauman. The Synopsis on this book is : One Evening in Paris, Eduard de Chavigny becomes a man obsess. A wealthy, notorious womanizer, he is captivated by a mysterious young English woman, Helen Craig and know that she is the woman that he has been searching for all his life. But Helen is not what she seems. While Eduard offer her wealth, freedom and passion, she must weigh these attraction against the demands of her own secret life and her determination to exact revenge for the destruction of her childhood world.
