Science has found a virus suffering an infection from a smaller virus. The sick virus was called the giant mimivirus. Mimiviruses are so big they can be seen by regular microscopes. Most viruses need special microscopes to be seen. The unidentified virus making the mimivirus ill was affectionately named Sputnik, after the Soviet Union revolutionary space craft. Scientists speculate now that there may be a whole class of viruses that attack other viruses. Why not? Viruses attack every thing else, be it plants, people, and animals.

I think this is great. Since scientists have discovered these, maybe they can find a virus that will attack HIV without attacking the human body itself. Not only that virus, but a number of other viruses that plague mankind today. I feel this gives scientists a new avenue in finding cures for viruses that were previously uncurable.

A viral anti-virus! That's great! Unfortionately, I think that is far off in the future.
