Just say NO!

Most people today complain about the economy, and the lack of job opportunities we have here in the USA. It is getting to the point where you cannot buy things from the USA..very typical things...coffee pots, blenders, shoes, flip flops. You name it! If you buy items from China, you are encouraging companies to send all their work to China. If you are willing to buy the merchandise made there, and the companies can make a a lot of money sending work there, they are going to continue to do it. It started out that you get this merchandise at a cheap price. Not so anymore. The prices are going up. You are buying it because you feel you have no choice. If you want to tell corporate America that you are not going to stand for it....don't buy it. Sure, it will be a struggle. Sacrifice always is, but if you want to change the economy, you have to be serious about it. Otherwise, do not complain. Do not blame everything on our government. You have your role, too. Make baby steps and stop buying from China.

The U.S. manufactures a lot of stuff besides their flags. Once I started paying closer attention I found much more than I thought.

Yesterday I was going through a box of my stuff at my parent's house that they had put away when I moved out. I came across a kangaroo still in its packaging from when I went to Australia in 2000. My dad was in the same room and I kind of laughed and said, I bet you this thing was made in China. He laughed, so I looked. There at the bottom, sure enough, made in China. Even when I leave the U.S. I can't get away from it. Makes that Aussie kangaroo seem so authentic.

Very well said! I am sick and tired of all the stuff coming out of China, and now there are new things with products. A couple of years ago it was contaminated pet food, this year it's contaminated milk, there have been countless insedents where toys have been dangerous.... it's gotten downright scary!

And yet, people still continue to buy it. Since it is impossible to go to a store and buy a pair of shoes not made in China, I hate when I see women with a cart of nothing but shoes and you know they are from China...the shoes have that chemical scent. I feel like I want to go up and fine people for buying from China.
