I cannot believe what I just read. I am stunned. This woman had certainly reached the end of her rope to do something like this. I know the elderly get the short end of things these days.Woman, 90, shoots self inside foreclosed home.Deputies, neighbor hear gunshots after attempt to serve notice. Congressman mentions incident during House debate on bailout. Congressman Kucinich: "This bill does nothing for the Addie Polks of the world" So many people going through foreclosure. Do you think the bailout will eventually trickle down and help people?

That is sad,
I think that the elderly should be protected. It is a shame she had to die in such a way
. I am sure she could have moved in with family if she needed to but to shoot herself was not the answer and I hope that others doesn't follow. I just wish that things were okay and our big American bubble didn't burst and all was right with the world. I know that isn't dealing with things but it is getting so ugly it is so many people losing their homes their jobs their self worth and respect and in some instances their families cause they can no longer care for them without houses, job, cars
...I hope something will be done and not just a band aid on the problem but fixed or atleast better.

This is sad and upsetting indeed. I can't really say if I'm glad to hear that she's recuperating because she still has to deal with losing her house. I'm just sad that for an individual to have lived 90 years, her last thoughts could have been what she was thinking when she shot herself.
I don't even know the specifics of the bailout plan. It seems they change every time I hear about it. If they end up bailing out the banks and other financial situations, does that mean that these establishments would be more willing to work with people who face foreclosures on their houses? It seems to me that these establishments are more willing to let houses rot and decay rather than work with the homeowners who may be able to pay lower mortgage rates than the ones they have now.

One can only hope that it will help people right away. There is such a deficiet in the amount of human compassion these days. This leaves me feeling sad and sorrowfull that so many have had to encounter this issue. Especially one in such a strapped position. She probably felt so helpless and had no way to see living past her home. That is absolutly awful. All the things that people are resorting to just out of despair for a loss of what they see as a managable life. I would like to see that all the people get a stop on any and all forclosers. Its just a really bad thing. The one thing that one has to be sure of is that they will have a home to come to. But with the cost of car notes, gas, food, electricity, house note, basic nesessities rising every day it seems I can see why these things happen. Not that its okay for the violence, hatred and disdain for others. Sometimes it gets to hard to see past that.

I really do not think they are going to do a thing to help any of us. they are just trying to win our vote. They have money and are not going through what we have for the last odd years. They did not care then and I do not think it will ever change. You never know though.
