Personally I don't like them, The ones Ive known have not been nice (except one, who was also a mix) and they arnt very cute. That being said I don't really approve of the whole "killing them off" thing that some cities were trying to do a while back.

i think pit bulls can me just as cute and nice as any other bread. the mean ones aren't that way because of their natural personality, but because they were trained by their owner or poorly treated by their owner. i honestly feel sorry for them. i don't really like the killing of any dog but by law in some states about putting them down if they attacked someone is somewhat justifiable in some means. but honestly, its not really their fault, but no one steps up and takes up the challenge to try and reform them.

I myself do like pitbulls. Yes I owned one. And believe it or not she was the sweetest dog around. I have kids as well my 5 year old at the time would run across the room and jump on her. She would look up at him and then go back to sleep. You can not put all dogs into the same catagory. It all depends on who the owner is. Most of the time it is the owner that feeds into the dogs bad behavior. Granted they were bred to fight but that does not mean that all of them are mean dogs. Did you know that dalmations are one of the top dogs to bite? Yes those sweet spotted dogs will bite your kids quicker than a pitbull. And what about all of those little dogs...they are big bitters alot of the time too. I know that pitbulls have the whole lock jaw thing going on and I am not saying to trust all of them but the pitbulls that I have met have been great to meet. It all depends on the owner. I am surprised at how many people are judging.

I do not like pit bulls at all. They really make me nervous. I think they have there place as guard dogs in certain situations. Were they not bread to be protectors of their property? I really don't think a pit bull has any place as a pet in the city, or really as a pet at all. They have it in their nature to attack, and no matter how they are treated and how sweet they may seem to their owners, with a stranger, there is always the possibility that that instinct could come to the surface and the dog can attack. They are also big and strong, so if they do attack, they can cause very serious injuries and even kill a small child. I have heard so many reports of people of all ages being attacked by this bread of dog that I think having one as a pet should not be allowed, especially in a city or suburban area where there are neighbors and especially children.

You should do some reaserch on a guy named Ceaser Millan. He rehabilitates dogs. He owns many pitbulls and uses them to help people get control over their own dogs behavior.

I think these dogs are good protectors, but they are very dangerous to have as a pet. Especially around kids..

I don't think they are good dogs for pets they are mostly good for guarding. Most cities have a law against owning pit bulls. We had an incident here in my area where a group of pit bulls got loose and killed an elderly lady. They are always attacking children, pit bulls stays in the news a lot. I don't hate them I just would not own one.

I love pitbulls. I think they are very cute and most of the time, very friendly. The ppl that say pitbulls aren't family pets are wrong. Pitbulls, by nature, are extremely people friendly and not so dog friendly. I'd say they aren't ideal for families with a lot of other dogs, especially small ones. Now chows, on the other hand, are not people friendly.
