Where is your home located?

My home is located on the edge of a coastal town. Behind it is a river and then fields so it is lovely to have a country view. My road is a close so there is no passing traffic apart from planes flying into and out of Bristol Airport overhead. I have quiet neighbors. About a year ago one of my neighbors moved and every time her cat gets out he comes back. He likes the fields to roam around it and he doesn't like living in town. Is your home in a village, countryside, town or city? What is your road like, a through road or a close? Is is a quiet or noisy locality?

I live in the middle of a big busy city. But I live on a residental street so the traffic and noise level isn't too bad. The noise has never woken me in the mornings like where I used to live. It is pretty quiet. My neighbours are all quiet and most don't have any kids. I think I have only seen about 3 kids since I moved here a year ago and I don't know if they lived around here or were visiting as I rarely see them. I live in a two bedroom basement suite in a house and have my own entrance and my own deck that I can barbeque on and sit and enjoy the sun. I have a back yard with four apple trees. I have a front yard but never use it because I leave that for the people upstairs as they seem to prefer it. I am not very far from the airport here so I get planes that are heading south going over my house but unless I am outside I don't hear them. And even when I am outside it isn't that loud that it would bother me. I like to watch them fly over and imagine where it is going.

i live in the city.. not really in the center of the city but still part of a big city.. i have a few neighbors because i live in a compund.. it's 3 minutes away from the big traffic and city roads..it's not very noisy because somehow it's in a compund, and quite accessible too, doesnt take many hours to go to the big city.. but i love living in the rural better with the simple life in the province, but i just dont want to be very far from teh city too..hard!

My home is located in the country. Though it is more like the sticks seeing as the main road is next to my house. Even though it is only a two lane road it stretches for miles. So a lot of the cars use it to get to and from the freeway, which can get noisy during the work week. Heck, even the weekends get noisy with traffic. My only real next door neighbor is my landlord, who is a quiet person. All the other houses are spread far apart. I am thankful for this as I don't like having neighbors so close together. What can I say, I've lived here for the past 12 years (will be 13 at the end of the month), so I am kind of stuck in my ways, you can say.

I live in an adult only mobile home park. Its on private property and doesn't get alot of traffic other than from those who live here. I'm in a coastal town, about 7 blocks from shore. My place is actually deep in the woods on the edge of our complex. We have the huge old oak trees with spanish moss on them that hang over the road giving lots of shade. I often joke that we live in a jungle since we have alot of wild animals in the woods next to me. The only noise issue I have is with the small airport near by. They have helicopters that take crews to and from the oil rigs and fly overhead alot.

Where you live sounds very nice my friend! I live about 25km from London in a small residential town, unfortunately our road is a busy one and is used like a racetrack by both cars and bikes roaring up and down! We have two railway stations within walking distance to travel into London or down to the Kent coast. We have a big shopping complex near us as well and have plenty of ammenities and two large leisure centres so we are spoilt in that respect, there is also a common to walk through as well if you want to do some quiet walking and thinking! I was born where I live now and nothing much has changed, even the neighbours are mostly the same too! We do have a few noisy neighbours who like to party till 2 in the morning but thankfully it's not every week!

Where you live sounds very nice maximax! At this moment in time I am living in an apartment on the outskirts of Cairo in an area bout 15 minutes from the airport. It is always quite busy around here but thankfully not too moisy all the time! Back home I lived in a suburb that is built around canals and riverfront property so it was drastically different to the environment I live in today! I was also less than 20 minutes from the beach but I am miles away from it now. I have always loved living near the ocean so I can't wait to do so again in the future.

I used to live in a town like yours. When I was quite small, I would play and always having fun. With the neighbours next to me, we would play until the setting sun. Later, my family moved to another town, which shares a boundary with another country. I found the international boder interesting. It is fun to watch the birds flying from one country to anther country. There is no bird law. Thus they don't have to worry about the illegal thing. Afterwards, I have been far away from my hometown. Oh, by the way, I know that u come from the united kingdom. Thus u must be quite familar with the city, in which I have been study.

Hi Maxine, other than exchanging Exeter airport for Bristol airport you could be describing where I live so I really needed say too muc more, only next to me is a stream rather than a river but I do have fields at the back too and the sea further down and the estuary a little to the left but I am in a close too on the edge of a coastal town. Huggles. Ellie :D

I live in the seaside resort of Southsea, which is now part of the city of Portsmouth, Britain's only island city. The island is connected to mainland Britain by a few bridges, across the muddy creek which fills with water each high tide. I do live in an urban area, but I'm only two minutes walk from the beach and the seafront. I get fresh sea breezes in through my windows, and it makes me feel good. The road I live on is not busy and I can walk from my home into Old Portsmouth, the historic part of the city, or in the other direction, towards the Hayling Island Ferry. From my home I can take a pleasant walk to the beautiful Langstone Harbour, with a distant view of the South Downs.

my home is in a suburb. it is a small town but an established one that has been around for a long time. i have lived here since 1968 and only left for a brief time to live other places so i know alot of people here. it is nice to walk outside and know most of your neighbors if even just to wave to them and to have people in the schools to look out for your children. i like it here and will most likely stay.

I envy your location! That sounds really nice! I live on the outskirts of the city and so it's pretty quiet. I have one row of houses behind me and after that, there's nothing but forest and countryside, pure bliss! I certainly would find it a great comfort to live by the coast as you do. The sea gives tremendous peace and serenity in itself. The thing I like about living where I am though is the fact that I can do a lot of countryside cycling. I am a regular cyclist and I love cycling along the river and eventually this takes you out to the countryside. I really don't fancy living in the City that much, hopefully I will never have to! My home is located in a small city not industrialized more of a sub-urban one, very near the road - an alternate route when the highway is not passable. It is just 10 minute walk to school, 5 minutes to a hospital and 1 kilometer to the market and 20 minute walk to downtown area. There are neighbora to the left and right and back. It's very near a ballfield but it's ruaral like because there are plenty of plants.

We're in a first floor flat in an old house. The neighbours are all pretty nice and quiet. Despite only being a few minutes walk from the town centre the house is on a pretty peaceful cul-de-sac which is nice as it means we get very few cars coming past (and there are plenty of friendly neighbourhood cats around :)) It's also only around a 10 minute walk to the station which is pretty handy.
