icecubes

I have two ice trays and I tend to do the same thing, I do not know why. I will take out the cubes I want and put the tray back in the freezer without refilling it. I guess I would rather fill it when the tray is completely empty. I really only use ice cubes in the summer time, I really do not like anything cold in the winter. Actually I may need some cubes tonight.

I am guilty of this one, I hardly ever remember to fill the ice cube tray. However, I do have some quite clever plastic ice cubes which I leave in the freezer. They are plastic shapes like lemon slices which are filled with water. When you leave them in the freezer they freeze (duh) and you can use them to chill your drink. They have the added advantage that when they melt they do not dilute the drink. You simply give them a rinse, and whack them back in the freezer to be re-used. Fantastic!

No one in my house does this as they know that I would lecture them for hours. I have to have ice for my drinks and I would be furious if I went to the freezer and found all 6 trays empty.

This discussion brought back old memories as a kid, as thats the last time I can remember evening seeing an ice cube tray in a freezer. Since for all my adult life I've had ice makers. But I remember that as a kid someone would always leave the tray with one or two cubes. No matter how much my parents fussed we always did it.

In my family, it happened the same way when we were kids. Everyone would get a bunch of ice but would be lazy enough to not refill it. just leave like three cubes of ice. Now my mom uses a bunch of ice for her pepsi. One time, we didn't fill both ice trays and left two in there. Boy, did she lectured us. But now we got a refrigerator with an automatie ice maker.

Empty milk cartons is a problem at our house. And yes, but everyone here empty's the ice cube trays and then puts them in the sink and doesn't tell anyone. So everytime I've went to the freezer for ice this week there was none. And that's after I washed the ice cube trays, filled em, and put them in the freezer! And I didn't even get any.
