Yesterday I saw a squirrel bounding across the road and yup, it was a hit! I think it just hit the bumper, it didn't get squished. Then I was waiting for someone, so I just sat there and I watched it. There were cars going over it, but since it was in the middle, it was not getting squished. I wasn't really sad, it was just a squirrel, there's a million of them, and it was really fast and probably almost painless. I took a picture of it too. How cruel! I just found it interesting.

Poor little fellow. I guess there is really nothing that could have been done. I hope it was painless. It is one of those conflicts between humans and animals where for the most part the animals always lose. I know there are a lot of squirrels but seeing anything die senselessly like that bothers me. The little guy was probably just stocking up for winter and now I guess he won't have to worry about that.

Not much we can do about that when it happens. Hate to see it happen but they run out in the road, and sometimes so quickly that the person does not have time to stop. After they are hit there is not much you can do for them, just hope it ends quickly for them.
