I like sharing articles I've read and liked here in mylot. I believe that whatever information I got, it is better if I share it with a lot of people. So this is another article from TIME magazine (10/13/08) that I would like to share since i think this is informative.

Remember the Old food Pyramid? It actually used to be a pyramid, with foods you were supposed to eat more of on the bottom and the ones to eat sparingly on the top. Problem is, different people have different dietary needs. So the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) introduced new guidelines in 2005 (they'll be updated again in 2010). No longer one size fits all, the new pyramid lets you figure out the best diet for you, whether you're trying to loose weight at age 30 or making sure you get enough B vitamins at 50-plus.
To be healthy at any age, you need to limit portion sizes so that you're not overeating- and make sire that every calorie counts. The key is to eat nutrient-dense foods that satisfy adult recommendations for calcium, potassium, fiber, magnesium, and vitamins A (as carotenoids), C and E.

I wouldn't bore with the other things anymore. The two paragraphs basically says it all. It is talking about your very own food pyramid. They are correct. Not everyone needs the same amount of everything. It depends on us. To make sure, it is better if you consult your doctor so as not to eat the wrong amount of food.

Yes I think eating things in moderation is the best way to go, sensible eating is the key, one can't expect to be healthy by eating only rubbish, but it is very hard to eat some of thengs that we are supposed eat unfortunately...

i think we are born to earn for food and what do we do with the food? we eat the food so lets not think anything and just eat whatever we like but burn what you eat before it becomes a trouble in your body just do a lot of exercise and burn the junk in the body which which keep you fit forever and never eat for greed this is for my over weighted friends
