At what age do you think it is appropriate to begin grounding your children? How do you ground them? Do you just not allow them to go out or do you take away privileges at home also such as computer, tv, phone? When my son is grounded he is not allowed to go anywhere and he has to stay in his room with no tv or computer.

My mom started grounding me when I started getting into trouble- around 8 years old. Now, I don't plan on grounding my daughter until she's about that age or a little older- and she's getting there. She has ADD/ADHD, and sometimes when she acts up, I don't have the heart to ground her. But if she KNOWS she's doing something she shouldn't, then she gets grounded from her favorite TV shows for a week.
