It's very common in most companies that their employers to force their employees to resign when they think they are not performing well. Guys, DO NOT RESIGN. The reason why their some of them are doing this is because they're gonna lose so much more if they terminate you. According to the Labor Code of the Philippines if you get terminated, aside from getting your back pay, you should be given by the company at least 7 days (still paid by the company) to look for another job. Whereas if you resign, you just get your back pay.
If you are worried about your records, your new employer can find out that you actually got terminated they will never know the reasons why you got relieved of your services for that company why? It's in the Labor Code as well. It's all up to you how you will handle things like this during your interview.
In case your employer still forces you to resign, call DOLE and ask for the "arbiter" or the lawyer and have them call your company. Be sure to read the document they are trying to have you sign and if possible seek for the assistance of a lawyer. If you can't afford one talk to the "arbiter" of DOLE.

Wow is nice either way in the Philippines fired or terminated you get back pay. Here in the states in the area I liv that is not the case. I was terminated because my position was no longer needed. I didn't get back pay or 7 days pay. We can apply for un-employeement and get a small check until we find work. If we get fired nothing. But as far as back pay no. Maybe some other companies and places here in the US I am not sure.
