It's a wild group, with lots of surprises, and this 3rd qualifying match is no exception.
The first surprise was Austria not managing to win in Faeroe Islands, and then France draw in Romania, in a match between two suffering teams, with coaches almost out the door.
The only team that kept up the flag was Serbia that beat Lithuania categorically (3-0) surprising leader after the first two matches.
Being Romanian, I watched my national team's match against France. Before the game I was only hoping for a good result (the draw was good too), but after the game, I can say that I'm disappointed... Romania had a great start, with Fl. Petre scoring after only 6 minutes, and Goian placing a fine header in Mandanda's net, after a corner kick. But, as usually, Romania tried to kill the game and defend that result with a tight defense, that this team unfortunately doesn't seem to realize it doesn't have
.
Ribery scored before half time and Gourcuff struck from outside the box in the 70th minute on what was, in my opinion a bit of a goalkeeper mistake.
Now, after 3 matches, Serbia and Lithuania lead the group with 6 points, followed by Austria, France and Romania all with 4 points, Faeroe closing the group with just 1 point. The groups remains open to any results, 5 teams having real chances to qualify.
