when someone talks and is very confident but pronounce the word very bad. How will you react? will you laugh at him/her? will you correct him/her? or you will not mind it... In my country we do have that..we have different dialects and when we try to speak other dialects, we cannot pronounce it properly and sometimes sounds so funny... On my part if I knew the person and he sounds funny not to pronounce the words very well I will correct him, before someone laughs at him/her.

I used to get really annoyed at people who mispronounced and misspelled things - but as I get older I find I'm far more tolerant. One of my daughers has a particular word she mispronounces ALL the time - and it drives me nuts because it's a word she uses constantly - but I never say anything. I would also never say anything to someone who had English as a second language - I think myLotters from other countries are doing incredibly well, so good for them!

Hi guybrush, I came from a country where here we have so many dialect, we spoke differently per region. We have a national language in order to communicate. We spoke English since it is our mode of instruction. I am so lucky enough I live in a city and the way I pronounce is not bad nor not perfect. I have fellowmen who lives in provinces the because of their dialect they find hard really to pronounce any other language..

I don't correct others people's mistakes regarding pronunciation of words. It's not that i am not concern but i just don't want to offend or hurt people. If its my hubby or daughter i will.On my case,i am the one who always corrected by my daughter and husband.I can speak English but the accent is different so they corrected me all the time and i appreciated it.

It will be a laughing matter to hear one speaking (with wrong pronunciation) and carrying it on and on. I knew of some like this. One from another state came to ours, and somebody taught him some words with wrong pronunciation or the word itself was wrong. He became a laughing stuff. This is cruel. If we know somebody is wrong correct him.
