Have you downsized before?

In the past year, I've been downsized twice at my present employer. I've been with them for 9 years on the 20th of October.
The missing income has definitely caused a change in the way we live as well as the things we buy and not buy.
How about you have you ever experienced being downsized or even worse having your job outsourced? How did you feel, were you prepared?
Mentally, I was prepared to do whatever it took to take care of my family. I didn't feel any ill-will against my employer and still don't as I'm sure they have had very tough business decisions.
I am thankful it wasn't the other alternative though and being asked to voluntarily resign or fired.

Hey,my friend.Long time no see~First, what do you mean by downsized?Do you mean dismiss or lay off from work? How comes the twice for ONE employer?Yea,it'll be tough for that kind of lossing jobs,I mean un-intented be quit from your current position.I never experience it before coz I worked for some local companies that do not have such huge size.Even for the intended quit,I found it's rather tough at the beginning of the new job which needs me to do a lot of in order to get the normal life style back.Anyway, good luck`~

Downsized means your salary is decreased, but your job isn't eliminated.

I was also a victim of that back then when I was still single. back then it was easy since I only have to take care of myself. But now I think it is hard to lose job even though you are being paid from it but after the money is gone it is really hard to find a new job again.

With so many uncertainties in the economy today, I've made a decision that it is best that I stay with this company and continue to have that longevity record on my resume in case another opportunity for employment avails itself.
I will actually be a rare new hire for a new company, because of my present history with this company.
Being single is much easier to deal with, as you are the only person you have to be concerned about feeding. When there is a family involved, the concern grows exponentially.
