Oh, how I miss them so....

Way back when, when I first started using the Internet (let's say 1993-ish) I was quickly drawn to the chat rooms. I don't know why, but for some reason I found IRC - Internet Relay Chat - and very soon afterwards started using mIRC exclusively. I stumbled upon a great group of people - #30andup - and still keep in touch with them to this day. I remember staying up until around 3am just to chat with my buddies on the west coast. We'd have at least 10 people in the chat room, usually more, just shootin' the breeze. That's actually where I learned to type so fast!! This went on for MANY years, I think until around 2000 or so. Then I was taken away from it all, and so were the others - yes, life gets in the way sometimes... We still keep in touch with e-mail and there has recently been a barage of conversation. We're always "threatening" to reunite, but it just doesn't work out any more. But, I decided to go back and see what it was like, see if it was still the same. Well, it's not, but it is. I found another group that welcomed me very quickly. And some of the old chat commands came right back to me. I was in tears within minutes - the memories were just flooding back in. I should been in bed hours ago, but I was just so happy to feel that little bit of the past... Well, I'm off to bed now, with this big smile on my face. Since then, myLot is the closest I've come to IRC, but I know now how much I miss it. I know my "friend" will never see this, but I'm so glad they were there for me when I needed them! I know they will be in the future also :)
