Do you have a keepsake like this?

I found it online it is a casting kit for pregnant woman. You make a mold of your belly as a keepsake. Then you can decorate it, paint it whatever. I know some celebs have done this. Well now they are selling do-it-yourself- home kits. Something for you and sig other to do together. Would you consider doing this? Is it a good idea?

Actually, I think this sounds like a lot of fun. I would have done it when I was pregnant. Now where would I have displayed it! And how I would have decorated it! I don't think I would decorate it with paint - signatures would have been a lot of fun though.

I would think it an option entirely up to the woman involved. It is, after all, her body which is being preserved for posterity. I can see the appeal, however.

I haven't done this no, but I do think it is a cute idea. Especially decorating it. I have seen these kits and always thought it was a good idea but my sister thought it a waste of money since she says it would likely get shoved in a closet or attic somewhere after the birth or first year and not seen again till the closet or attic was cleared out and possibly tossed out after a few years with a what was I thinking thought. Me, However still thinks it is a fun way to show your kids something about themselves before they were born. It is a memory keeper that will always be precious. So I guess it all depends on how a woman feels about her pregnancy and what they want to remember of it.

It's a good idea, a bit of fun which brings the couple closer to each other. I would like to do it with my better half if she was pregnant. © ronaldinu 2008
