"Both Mr. McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, have criticized Mr. Obama's proposal to raise taxes on high earners and require that businesses provide health insurance. Ms. Palin referred to the plan as 'a little bit like socialism'"
The way I see it, if Obama is a socialist, so is McCain. They both voted for the $700 billion bailout. What is that if not socialism for the rich? Socialism is only bad when it could help the people who really need it. Do you know how much good that money could have done for the people in the lower and middle classes? Instead, it goes to rich people who had to have known what would happen. You make a bad loan, you lose that money! Why should we have to pay for the mistakes they have made?
""In a very technical sense, it is a step toward" socialism, Dr. Wallace said. Yet the government has created many programs that are socialistic in a similar respect, including the Social Security system, Dr. Wallace said."

Say he is for the redistribution of wealth, where you have to redistribute your earnings to other people, that is total SOCIALISM!!!! isn't it? well you said it, Obama is total socialist, and brings to the conclusion that the man is completely against capitalism -_-; McCain and Palin said it right about what economic system that obama supports...

Obama's whole stint as a wouldbe president is based on socialism. He wants to spread the wealth around by taxing hard work, yes McCain voted for the bailout but he doesn't subscribe to the notion of taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor. How is making the rich poor and poor rich every going to solve anything. The people that create wealth in this country do spread it around, its called giving somebody a job. Under dingbatbama, that would stop and you'd have people just doing the minimum since hard work would not be rewarded.

Well, I paid into the Social Security system so I look at it as more of an insurance or a retirement program. Although I've heard some call it an entitlement program.
And I am not an economist but I think it's important for the economy to bail out the banks which I might add was forced to make bad loans by the Democrats. They were forced to make housing loans to people with bad credit and low paying jobs. Here is a video that shows how part of this mess got started.

Obama is a Socialist and always has been. His mother was one. His childhood mentor was a Communist. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?pageId=56859 His church teaches Black Liberation Theology which is socialistic.

He has made speeches at Socialist clubs on college campuses early in his career. Here are more of his socialist connections.

Then there is his connection to William Ayers, whom I don't think Obama has been completely honest about. Watch this video of a victim of Bill Ayers bombings. See what he has to say about Obama and his relationship to Ayers.

And then lastly there is the connection between Obama and the prime minster of Kenya. A man named Odinga whom Obama campaigned for in Kenya. Read about that relationship.

You said it perfect! I have always thought about corporate welfare that is supported by a good majority of Republicans is worse than actual social welfare. Because the fact of how much money does the corporations need when there are people that are unable (no not unwilling) to find a job and are starving. You're right socialism for the rich is great and socialism for the poor is just wrong lol
