my friends and i are thinking of going on an apple picking adventure for the fall season. some may think that it's children's thing but still, we want to go and pick our own apples. right now, i am searching on the internet which farm we could go to. anyone has any recommendation? we are in the washington DC area, so nearby farms in maryland and virginia are good for us. if you have been to that farm and liked it, you could recommend it to us and share some of your experiences here in mylot so that it would help us in choosing the best one to go to.
Thanks a lot.

I live in West Virginia, and everywhere around including most of VA have already had their apple harvests for this year. The best time to go on an apple picking trip is in the first week or so of October. That's when a lot of the festivals are going on, and that's when it's all done so that we can have the festivals. We went this year, and had a great time.
Last year of course we went also, because well it's the big thing to do around here lol. Whenever they do have the apple harvest festivals though it is so much fun. They have food, crafts, shops, antiques, auctions, games, prizes, just about anything, sometimes they even have carnival rides. It's a lot of fun, and there are so so many people that travel from all around the U.S. to come to it. You should come one time it's really fun!
Remember it's in early October every year, don't be late you'll miss it. It's all weekend, you'll just have to check like WV papers and see when it's happening for the year you plan to go. You would have a blast, it's definately a fun family activity that everyone enjoys. Come' join us, it's a lot of fun, sorry you missed it this year though. Great discussion, i wish you well on your adventures.
