Which will get to the world Series first, Manny or The red Sox? I think it will be the Red Sox. They didn't make it this year but they were real close. They seem to have more going for them.and now the question is will Manny remain with The Dodgers.i hope so because I am a Dodger fan. What do you think?

I don't see Manny playing more than maybe 5 or 6 years depending on him fielding. Before he came to Boston, I can always remember Manny can hit without question but his fielding wasn't exactly that great and I don't think it ever has. That said, Boston will be around longer so I'm going to say them. I don't know what Manny will do honestly and am not really thinking about it.
I'm keeping tabs on the World Series but would seriously watch it much more had the Tribe been there honestly but that is just me. An Indians/Dodgers series would be interesting as those two teams have a little history. Did you know they faced off in 1920 for the World Series? Would have some interest. More so if the series is competitive.

I didn't know about the 1920 bout. I call myself a Dodger fan but I don't know that much about their history.I saw a Brooklyn Dodger documentary so I know a little more.

Yeah I actually looked that up. I saw that in a book on baseball with some stats showing some of the World Series match ups and that one caught my attention. I thought that was interesting and it was also during a time where the World Series was actually a Best of 9 format.

Ah, what a great discussion you have started here. I hope to see Joe Torres lead Manny's team to the Series sometime soon. But mainly just to prove that he wasn't completely done when the Yankees got rid of him.
I think the Red Sox still have a very strong team though, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them right back there in the playoffs again next year. I'm not a big Sox fan, but I really wanted them to beat the Rays in the playoffs. Maybe next year!
Have a great day!

Thanks. It is a little strange but I have always liked Joe Torre but I hate, hate the Yankees. The Dodgers was the 2nd team I root for, the Mets is the first. so when I heard about Torre coming to L.A., I was very happy. Then to have Manny go from my 3rd team , The Red Sox to L.A. I was very happy. This should be fun to watch.

The Red Sox have proven they don't need Ramirez to win (and sadly so have the Dodgers)
That been said I do think Ramirez is a good player and I'm glad he's on my team (Dodgers)

That's exactly how I feel. I am glad Manny went to the Dodgers.

It's hard to say. The Red Sox came very close but in the end could not overcome the Rays! Joe Torre had a lot to prove this year, what with taking the Dodgers to the playoffs in his first year as their Manager and his former team the Yankees didn't even make the playoffs! But, he fell just short as the Phillies were overpowering! I think it could be interesting to see. Who knows, maybe they'll both make it next year!

I was hoping for the Dodgers- Red Sox series. The drama would have been great to see. Can you picture Manny playing in Fenway as a Dodger? Are you watching the Series? I am not. I could care less who wins.
