I do love this song from the musical Les Miserables. Every time I hear it, I can't help but sing along and have goosebumps. I really feel the intense feelings of the people singing the song and the message was very clear. Their struggles are mirrored on the song. I just heard it a while ago and thought of sharing this one to you.
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again.
When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums,
there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes.
Will you join in our crusade? Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade, is there a world you long to see?
Then join in the fight that will give you the right to be free.
Do you hear the people sing...
Will you give all you can give, so that our banner may advance?
Some will fall and some will live,
will you stand up and take your chance?
The blood of the martyrs will water the meadows of France.
Do you hear the people sing...

Oh isn't this song so full of heroism and martyrdom?
my favorite part is
The blood of the martyrs will water the meadows of France.
How about you guys? Do you have a song that when it is played you can't help but sing along and really feel agitated by the song?
Come on! Let's have a sing along!

DONNA
I was cheated by you
And I think you know when.
So I made up my mind, it must come to an end
Look at me now, will I ever learn?
I don't know how but I suddenly lose control
There's a fire within my soul
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again
My My, just how much I've missed you?
Yes, I've been broken-hearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I should not have let you go
Look at me now
Will I ever learn
I don't know how
But I suddenly loose control
There's a fire within my soul.
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again
My, my, just how much I've missed you?
Yes, I've been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I should not have let you go
DONNA
What the hell are you all doing here?
Well I'd love to stop and chat, but I
have to go and clean out my
handbag: or something
BILL
Age does not wither her.
HARRY
I was expecting a rather shout
matron
SAM
No she's still Donna.
DONNA / SAM / BILL / HARRY
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything
Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again
My, my, just how much I've missed you?
Yes, I've been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I should not have let you go

I love that song too... also, I would like to share a more individual and personal struggle. "why God?" from Miss Saigon -

Why does sagon never sleep at night?
Why does this girl smell of orange trees?
How can i fell good when nothing's right?
Why is she cool when there is no breeze?
Vietnam
You don't give answers, do you friend?
Just questions that don't ever end
Why god? Why today?
I'm all through here, on my way
There's nothing left here that I'll miss
Why send me now a night like this?
Who is the girl in this rusty bed?
Why am I back in a filthy room?
Why is her voice ringing in my head?
Why am I high on her cheap perfume?
VietnamHey look I mean you n o offence
But why does nothing here make sense?
Why god? Show your hand
Why can't one guy understand?
I've been with girls who knew much more
I never felt confused before
Why me? What's your plan?
I can't help her - no one can
I liked my mem'ries a s they were
But now I'll leave rememb'ring her
When I went home before
No one talked of the war
What the knew from TV
Didn't have a thing to do with me
I went back and re-upped
Sure Saigon is corrupt
It felt better to beHere driving for the embassy
'cause here if you can pull a string
a guy like me lives like a king
just as long as you don't believe anything
why god? Why this face?
Why such beauty in this place?
I liked my memories as they were
But now I'll leave rememb'ring her
Just her

Les Miserables the Musicale about a French Revolution? Oh dear, it's wonderful and unforgettable. I've seen it on a video from a relative in London and I should really commend it's brilliant musical score! Indeed "Do you Hear the People Sing is a very moving song. I love it so much! It 's very touching! Also the other songs Castle on a Cloud A Little fall of Rain and the favorite of mine On my Own. The music is what really carried it's entirety although the plot itself is also good but without the good music it will not have such a terrific impact.
Another unforgettable song and really, unforgettable which I can't help but sing along is "The Sound of Music". It was the theme song of the movie of the same title that starred my favorite Julie Andrews. Oh I was still very young when I saw that very wholesome movie but it already touched and made a mark in my young heart.
I can never forget this movie! And even today as I watch this movie over and over again in the comfort of my home through a DVD copy, it never failed to enchant me. The clouds, the mountains, majestic peaks of the Alps, the green field almost always completely overtakes my soul while the joyful Maria played by Julie Andrews, was singing this wonderful song while walking and leaping along the wide expanse of land. Oh I love her voice and the song itself is very inspiring:
The hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung for a thousand years.
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears.
My heart wants to beat like the wings
Of the birds that rise from the lake to the trees,
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies from a church on a breeze,
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls
Over stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray.
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely,
I know I will hear what I've heard before.
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I'll sing once more.
If you have already watched this movie, you know what I am talking about. If you have not go find a a copy and watch. It's one of the greatest movies ever shown
