Unmatched Socks

Do you end up with a lot of unmatched socks? If so what do you do with them? I have a family of 5, and my kids are terrible about their socks, I find them every where especially scrunched up under the bed, or behind their computer desks. My husband also just kicks his socks off while laying on the couch so I find them stuffed in to the couch, under the couch, and behind the couch. Needless to say I end up with a lot of unmatched socks. I have a laundry basket that I throw them all in to, and when I have a little extra time I will go through the basket. But my basket is getting over filled. How do you handle your un-matched socks issues?

I am afraid to say I am the typical guy. I leave my socks all over the place, well within a few different spaces anyways. My wife handles the laundry and the socks. She gets really mad at me. I don't do it to bother her, I am just lazy, I work all day and I am tired, and I just want to kick my socks off where ever I am somewhere. She hates it but she always takes care of it. I know many of you ladies are probably going to yell at me now. But I will say in my defence I have the best wife in the world who loves me inspite of the crap I pull.

I also keep them in a small basket and go through them once in a while..But I also know that if it takes too long for a match to show up, it gets reused into somethng like a cleaning rag or just pitched..

Sounds like socks are the least of your problems. How about you don't do the wash unless the kids and your husband keep their dirty sock together. The same way you fold them together is the same way they should go in the dirty clothes. Its my rule and it works great, if they don't want to do it then they will go barefoot. It will only once, I promise.
