I never forget to take my Christmas decorations down before the Twelfth night of Christmas. As I take down the Christmas decorations so up go the birthday balloons for my son's birthday, right on January the 6th.
Do you or have you ever forgotten to take down the decorations by the Twelfth Night? How long was it before you realised the 6th January had passed?

We clear and pack Christmas decorations after the first week of January. My Christmas holidays came to an end around that time, so we clear things up before I go to work. © ronaldinu 2008

Doesn't it get kind of depressing when you take the Christmas tree and decorations down, Christmas comes and goes so quickly and I hate January! It's such an anticlimax isn't it, but at least with your son's birthday there is something to look forward too once Christmas has gone, so it doesn't look so bare when all the decorations have gone. I always think the room looks so bare and desolate when twelfth night comes and goes. We've always taken them down in time as it's considered bad luck not too that's if you are superstitious!

I often leave my decorations up after Epiphany. I love Christmas and Christmas decorations. Years ago, I was in a Christmas business and had decorations up almost year-round.
I used to know a lady who kept her beautiful Christmas tree (7 ft artificial Douglas fur) up year-round. She decorated it for New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Always make sure the christmas decorations come down on time because I have always been told that it gives you bad luck for the rest of the new year if you do forget. It's a little depressing I always find when it's time to take them down...especially when you spend so much time and care putting them up in the first place.
