Did anyone watch this movie? If so what did you think of it? I just watched it and thought it was great! I kept thinking is it an illusion or it supernatural. The ending was terrific. Here is the Netflix synopsis:
Set in early 1900s Vienna, Neil Burger's romantic thriller centers on illusionist extraordinaire Eisenheim (Edward Norton), who falls for an aristocrat (Jessica Biel) well above his social standing. When she becomes engaged to Crown Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell), the master magician employs his powers to win her love. His daring scheme creates tumult within the monarchy and ignites the suspicion of Chief Inspector Uhl (Paul Giamatti).

I've seen that movie, it was good. But, "The Prestige" is far more better!

The Prestige is a great movie too and I am very fond of both Jackman and Bale, there is a lot more magic stuff in this movie so some might like it better.

I loved the clever way the whole thing was planned. I have ordered "The Prestige" all the comments say it is just as good.

I loved the movie. I added it to my collection a while ago. It is a very sophisticated plot and very well done. There was a lot on intricate planning put into the scheme. I do wish that Rufus Sewell could be cast as something other than a villain even though he is fantastic in that type of role.

I cam across it by accident and just loved it too. Rufus Sewell makes a great, very handsome villain.

I saw that movie. At first I didnt quite get the realism. Then after allowing myself to watch the movie rather than think about how the tricks were done I began to get into it. My husband has watched it several times on cable. If you like that then you like the movie "The Prestige" with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Its about two magicians competing for each others secrets. You wont believe the ending! THE ILLUSIONIST was a great movie for Edward Norton. It was made for him. All in all I loved it. dl

That was an incredible movie. When we started watching the film I was not sure I would like it. Once the plot began to unfold it was really intriguing. I loved it.

Now this is what mylot should really be about, sharing. I haven't heard of this movie, but am familiar with Ed Norton, and he has a well proven track record. I'm going to have to look out for both 'the Illusionist' and 'Prestige', they sound beguiling.
As a fan of Orson Welles acting, I will recommend an old movie that the readers may not have seen, 'Cagliostro', about a hypnotist who plots to replace Marie Antoinette with a look-a-like. He's very impressive in the title role, as always.

I was a bit disappointed when the movie started....I thought I would not enjoy it but very soon I was completely caught up in it. It was a great movie...I'll be watching it again as I'm sure I missed some bits. I love to re-watch movies to pick up things I missed earlier.

I saw this movie. I had to watch it a second time to get a better grasp of the story. I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it was complicated, but I still love the movie. My fiance enjoyed it too and thought that we could get for his mother. We ended up giving it to her last year.
