Curtains, blinds or sheets?

Or tinfoil in Alaska! When I lived there I found they put tinfooil up when the sun came out till early morning. I like curtains for ease although blinds can look cool but they get dusty and I have to fight to get them up or down. But in our new rental, our blinds are encased in a box - and we just pull this tab across and down to open and close and pull them up and down - so nice...great for allergy won't collect dust and such like blinds and curtains. So what do you prefer? In look and ease of use....

I want what you have. Encased blinds sound great. I used to have both blinds and curtains . but when I moved, I didn't bring the curtains. so now I just have blinds and I like it. They are mini blinds and they aren't too hard to raise or lower. But encased blinds are a dream.

They are a dream especially for those like me who are clumsy about these sorts of things. I love them. But we wound up getting heavier coverings for them as its easier for the baby to nap during the day - me too especially with a migraine.

I live in an apartment, so I have blinds. I can't get rid of them, and I would probably keep the ones in my bedroom, but I hate the ones on my patio door. The blinds in front of my patio door are the straight up and down blinds. I don't like those that much.

I don't either - I wind up fighting with them.

In my first apartment, I had curtains in the living room and a sheet in the bedroom. I like my bedroom dark. In the apartment I live in now, we have blinds provided by the complex and I am not sure if I am going to put up curtains are not--they just seem like a unnecessary temptation for my cats.

We have a windowed door in the bedroom - even though it opens to a covered porch - we're going to need to cover that. Yeah, I think you visited my cat discussion and the first responder - I think the first - mentioned that his cats climb the curtains!
