Adrian, my first grader, is having a real hard time in school with reading and spelling. I read with him every day and help him with his spelling words for each week every day, but he still has a hard time with these subjects. I have decided to find him a tutor to further help him in these areas. I found a website called care.com in which people looking for tutoring, babysitting, housecleaning jobs, etc. post their availability and services. Many of the people on there that are looking for tutoring jobs are going to college to become teachers and will tutor a kid for $5, $10, $15 or $20/hr. The price varies by the provider. Many of them will come to your home and work one on one with the student. I thought that sounded good so I posted on that site a while back stating that I was looking for someone to come to my home 2 nights a week for 1 hour to tutor Adrian and that I could pay up to $10 each time for that hour. The problem is, most of the providers on the site for my area that list tutoring as one of their services have not logged in or been active on the site in quite some time, therefore I have been unable to find my son a tutor from that site. So tonight I posted the following ad in craigslist: I need a tutor for my 1st grade student in the areas of reading and spelling. I would like someone who can come to my home for one hour 2nights a week to help my son in those areas. I will pay $10 for the hour each night. If you are interested and can help please call Dixie at (my phone number) So far in response I received a copy of the following resume: Sarah Summary of Qualifications: · Well-organized and efficient · Strong training skills · Trained in all areas of customer service, security, and law enforcement · Skilled with computer systems and software such as Word, Excel and Internet · Self-starting, goal-oriented strategist whose confidence, perseverance and vision promote success · Quickly learn procedures and method · Major strengths in planning, problem solving and communication · Creative writing skills · Can work within a set budget and meet or exceed expectations Experience: Swim instructor Black Hawk College · Teach children ages one through twelve how to swim · Supervise Kids · under go swim lesions for kids Cook, Waitress 2008 Rudy’s Taco · Successfully handled customers orders · Trained new employee on procedures of the grill and daily cleaning · Recorded cooking time and number of batches prepared · Successfully handled cooking multiple orders on the grill Cook, Cashier 2007 Roseville Lanes · Clamped lid of cooker in place, using wrench · Removed lid of cooker and dumped cooked grain onto conveyor after determining that grain had reached specified color and consistency · Recorded cooking time and number of batches prepared · Supervised five employees, scheduled work hours, resolved conflicts, determined salaries Security Management 2002 to 2007 Amrti Appliance · Observes shoppers; detains and interviews persons apprehended for shoplifting and fraud in accordance with local laws and Company policy · Conduct thorough, high quality Loss Prevention audits with follow-up to the Loss Prevention Manager on results, ensure compliance to EAS or INK tag standard, as well as ensure physical security and merchandise security protection standards are enforced Education: Associates in Science, Criminal Justice 2009 Black Hawk College I have, of course, deleted all contact or personal info. that was included in the resume above, but the rest is there. Is it just me, or is there anyone else who can not see how this resume applies to or shows how this person might be qualified for the position that I advertised for? I just thought it was kind of funny. Am I alone?

Hmmm...I would not have thought of the $10/hr myself but as I said in my discussion I had seen on a website where people who listed that they did tutoring for as little as $10/hr, in fact some of them even do it for as little as $5/hr so that is where I got the idea from. I am not hiring a professional tutor anyway.

Also, that wasn't really the question.
