I just bought it and granted I dont use it everyday. I like it but it is not making my skin as perfect as I thought it would. However that could be b/c I do not use it everyday like I am supposed to. Have you tried it? How do you like it? Did you find something that keeps your skin clearer?

I have used this stuff. You will get better results if you use it everyday as directed. My only problem with this is that once your skin is clear, you still have to use it. I went a week after my skin cleared up and broke out a week later worse than I had before. I just decided that Dawn dishwashing liquid and tanning help so much better. You only have to use the dawn 3 times a week--depending on the severity, and tan about 10 minutes every other day. It seems to get the yuckies out of the skin and you get great color too!!

Really, dawn? That is awesome. I use the stuff with the bleach alternative, should I buy the regular kind? How do you use it? Do you put it on a washrag and get it wet and soapy? Are you supposed to leave it on for a certain time? Is it good for oily skin to? Have you heard of anyone putting a toothpaste mask on to get rid of acne? I was thinking about that because they say that applying a drop of toothpaste to a zit will clear it up so I figured all over the face would fix it all...what do you think?

Hi Precious!! LOl so many questions. Use the regular dawn and make a soapy rag of it. Open up the pores first with warm/hot water and then wash with it. Rinse with cool water to close the pores--hey "Dawn takes the grease right out of your way", so yes, it's good for oily skin. Once to twice a week for dry, combo skin and every other day for oily. Pat try and if you have some witch hazel, apply that all over to help the pores close better and stay cleaner. I have heard of the toothpaste mask. I actually use it in big spots, especially on my cheeks, so i don't think that it would hurt to use all over. And who knows, you could wake up with minty fresh skin and minty fresh breath. Use the paste though, not the gel--you will get a sticky mess if you do. As for the dawn--remember how it feels in your hands if you get too much on your hands, use just enough to lather on a wash cloth. Good luck and keep me posted!!

Oh yeah, Apple Cider Vinegar is also a good astringent. Or even if you use regular soap, or acne soap use this as a toner. It kills bacteria because of the acidity and closes the pores! Cheap ways of saving your skin. Good luck!!

I have always had acne for as long as I can remember and I have tried all kinds of treatments that did not clear up my acne,a long while back my mother ordered me Proactive to try and see if it would help with me skin, and when I used it every day it did help my skin clear up,but then I got lazy and only used it every couple days and it soon stopped working on my skin, and my acne got so bad that even Proactive could not help me,and I had to go to the Dermatoligist to get him to proscribe me medicine for my acne, and I would definitely suggest trying to use Proactive every day and see if it causes improvement.

i used it about a year after it first started showing the infomercials. it worked pretty well for about 6 or 7 months. have to use it as directed, with consistancy! i had to stop using it though, after the 6 or 7 months of working pretty well, not totally clear but much better, it started to make me skin feel like it was burning. so i tried using it only once a day instead...same thing. i just got sensitive to the stuff all of a sudden...i dont know if it was because the changed the formula or what, but if i kept using it my skin would just get redder and redder. so i stopped! like another person said..you have to use it everyday.

I used it before and it really works. You have to use the cleanser, toner, and lotion twice a day every day. You can't skip at all if you want clear skin. The only reason why I stopped using it was because I felt that my skin was being too dependent on it. It works though! But if you really don't want it then you can return it to the store. Proactiv has a 2 month guarantee which they uphold.

I haven't tried it yet but I have planning to order some. I too have a problem doing things when I'm supposed to like taking medicine so I just hope I can remember to use this stuff. I would love to have perfect skin!

Consistency is the most important thing with "systems" like Proactiv. You can get the same results using a mild non-comedogenic cleanser followed with a light layer of a benzoyl peroxide (the active ingredient in Proactiv) based acne gel. Wait for it to dry, about ten minutes, and then finish with a light non-comedogenic moisturizer. Do this in the morning and before bed. If the BP is drying out your skin too much then skip that step in the AM or only put in on trouble spots. Voila, your own (and much cheaper) 'acne system'.
