Highlights & Lowlights

So, I'm sick of just having my hair as is. I need to do *something* with it. After consulting with twenty different hairdressers, I've decided to NOT have a body wave because I'm not up for arguing that the roller size does affect the curl. *sigh* So I have decided to go with some highlights and lowlights in order to have some beauty with my hair.
Because I have waist long hair, I know that I need to use the foil to have my hair highlighted and lowlighted.
Is there a particular type of foil to use? Thanks!

hey there jands1!I'll go with highlights.if you're blond,go for lowlights.and the foils they use here are those diamond foils.

My natural colour is Mediterranean Brown. Which means it looks black but in the sun or next to a true black haired person you realize it's a dark brown. I artificially make it various shades of red. Hence wanting to add dimension and such with both the highlights and lowlights. I will not be blond again because it is too washed out for my skin tone.
Not sure what the diamond foils are. Sounds as if I'm going to have to figure out where a Beauty Shop is. Silly Sally's never reopened after Katrina over three years ago. Bleh.
Thanks sugarfloss!
