There is a new warning put out by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.... Sherwood brand Pirate's Gold Milk Chocolate coins are being recalled due to the fact that they contain Melamine, the ingredient in milk product that has caused many infant deaths in china. These candies are sold at Costco, as well as many bulk, and dollar stores. Please make sure to check your children's Halloween candy and DO NOT LET THEM EAT THE PIRATE COINS (you know the ones wrapped in the shiny gold foil) and please let other parents know about this! See http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/coins.asp for more details. Just wanted to spread the word :) Thanks!

Thank you so much for this warning. So many millions of young children go out to get candy on Halloween. It is important for the parents to know what is not safe for them. Whoever takes the children out this year needs to be aware of that. Some kids start eating the candy before they get home.

Exactly, that's why I wanted to spread the word. It came through an email I received from a parent at Maddy's school. Thanks Rozie!

Well, I just called my brother who lets my Niece and Nephew go trick or treating to let him know. I can't believe this is happening again. I hope no kids end up sick from it. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**

Thanks for the warning. With the lax US inspections (too many imports, not enough people) it is very likely that this kind of candy also reached the US. I feel so sorry for all those babies in China, who no have kidney damage. It's amazing how far reaching this is. It might go further than this. Really have to pay attention to what you buy nowadays.

Apparently this is only in Canada, and they did not reach the USA. I love candy, but I guess I should keep aware of the warnings. Poor Chinese babies!
