A problem arose in Sydney, Australia, recently when a family of five found a "foreign substance" in their gelato. http://www.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnoughNews/idUSTRE49S4Y520081029 The DNA tests might clear them, but they still served it. I think I'm going to stick to Rita's Frozen Custard from now on. How would you handle something like this? Civilly? Or would you come understandably unglued??

Oh...My....God! I would have tossed whatever unfortunate meal I ate! Then I would proceed with a lawsuit!

Yes, it is always possible the problem entered in the supply chain other than the pub.

I suspect that I would do the same, unless I believed the pub owners couldn't have known, and then I'd go after whoever made the product with the inedible substance.

A well-deserved one, at that.

I think the family is trying to cheat the pub. Like that woman and the human thumb in Wendy's chili that turned out she put it there herself!

That's possible, but they should be able to tell if the stuff had been in the ice cream for a while or not. Just like with the Wendy's story. What made THAT story worse was the doof who allowed them to cut off his finger!!! HELLO????!??
