I never tried listening to an audio book before, not sure if I would like them or not. I went to Borders and saw an audio book for a novel I read and LOVED (called Step on a Crack) and it was only 15 bucks! usually audio books are 40+...so I figured that was the perfect audio book to try out! Cheap and I know I love the story :)
And I really really enjoy having the audio book! I like actually being able to hear the story. I listen to it in my car on my way to work. And as soon as I get one of those NordiTac bikes I want I know I'll like listening to it while I exercise :P lol
Have you guys tried audio books, what'd you think?

I've downloaded some audio books, but only because I can't find them in bookstores.
The first audio books I've downloaded and listened to were Terry Pratchett's Bromeliad trilogy, which I enjoyed very much, not only because of its content, but also because of the way it was read.
I've also downloaded Isaac Asimov's Robot short stories, which I'm listening to right now.

You haven't been able to find them in bookstores? O.o If you have a Borders, there store as a section labeled Audio Books...it is small but there is still lots to choose from! :D Maybe it's new, I only just started looking for audio books.
I really like how mine is read too; the guy doing the killers voice is really good at making him sound like a killer lol. And the main heroes voice helps me like him more! :P
I will defeniatly buy more audio books to enjoy in my car and during exercise!!

I meant to say I downloaded the audio books because I couldn't find the printed version, the authentic books. I've never looked for audio books in bookstores, I prefer the paper books. But when the paper books are not available, I get whatever I find. Recently I found the Bromeliad trilogy books too, but it was nice to hear the audio books, not to mention that the audio books were in English, and some things do get lost in translation.

ooo ok. My mistake! :P
I defeniatly like printed books too. I'll never stop reading just because I listen to audio books too. I'll just be thinking about two different stories at the same time :D
I was thinking about get Marley and Me on Audio...that book made my laugh a lot and cry like a baby! lol. So I would think the audio book could be just as powerful.
What are those trilogies you listen to about?

I don't know about downloading them, never tried. I just bought mine at Borders, so I'll probably continue to buy them from stores. I might try downloading one, just to see how it goes.

I have been listening to a podcast of a book that was offered on iTunes for free. It is really good! It had 23 parts. By the time I found it, all the parts were already up, so I can just listen to it whenever. I am up to part 18. It is the first one I have found like this. I am not sure how to find more free ones.

Are podcasts of books the same as audio books? I really have no idea lol. But it sounds like the same. I don't know how to get any of mine free, so I just buy them lol. They're worth the money.
I just got a branded new Marley and Me Audio CD...I listen to them when I drive to and from work, so I know one of these days I'm going to be bawling to or from work in my car lol...because when I read the book i cried like a baby at the end!

LOL! Yes, I love reading while I drive :P And this is a safe way! :) Now while I have audio books I can kind of read 2 at the same time :) One I'm actually reading, and my audio book! I have twice the enjoyment :D

Oh wow...then maybe I never did hear about A Lion Amoung Men...because that doesn't sound like anything i've ever heard about! lol. Sounds interesting though. Is it old like when The Wiz of Oz was written, or is it a newer novel?

Ooo, well I only have one :P lol. But I'm hoping to get more soon. There's actually this charity book sale I went to last year, and they are having it again this comign Febuary, so I'm gonna go there and hopley they have audio books. I didn't look for audio books last time I went because I wasn't interested at the time...but their hardback books were REALLY cheap, so i'm hoping the audio books will be cheap too (if they have them).
