Do you think that if Obama was age mate with John Mcain the political contest would have been different, I guese in my opinion Obama might be leading in the opinion polls because many youthfuls voters are identifying with him, on the other hand were it that they were of the same age John Mcain would be leading now in the opinion polls and the outercome must have even well be known.

I don't think it would make any difference - and if young people are voting for Obama just because he is younger, perhaps they should take their right to vote more seriously and research both candidates positions on the issues.

So is not just the age of Obama that is driving young voters towards him rather than towards Mcain. Do you think it is theme of change that is make all this difference.

Many of the younger people don't see that what Obama is touting as "change" has been tried many times before and has failed. They haven't lived through it and haven't researched to determine whether these things are new or just being revisited to a new generation.

All the younger voters know is that what we have had for the last 8 years is not working and the chance is anything remotely different is attractive. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

I think if Obama were as old as McCain that most young voters would be tuning out, unless he was as dynamic as Clinton was in his first term. If he had a good sense of humor and he made a special effort to reach them.
